Providing Excellent Counsel since 1973
The penalties for conviction of marijuana charges will disrupt your life, possibly costing you your driver’s license, up to 18 months in jail and heavy fines. In addition, you will now have a criminal record, which will follow you in job interviews, student loan applications and rental housing applications.
I am attorney Anthony N. Palumbo. I have been in practice for more than 35 years, and focus exclusively on criminal defense, including marijuana charges. Before going into private practice, I served as a Union County prosecutor and Cranford municipal prosecutor.
Stages of a Marijuana Case
First your marijuana case is investigated. If the police drop by “just to talk” call me, lawyer Anthony N. Palumbo for experienced criminal defense counsel. If your case is supported by evidence, you will be arrested and bail will be set.
If you have been arrested on marijuana charges, you may be eligible for the pretrial intervention program. If you successfully complete the program, your marijuana charges will be dismissed. Then we can apply for expungement to erase your criminal record.
If you lose your license, a lawyer at The Law Offices of Anthony N. Palumbo can request a hardship exemption, so that you can drive to work or chauffeur your children to day care and medical appointments. I frequently am able to avoid any loss of license!
Each side now prepares to go to trial. As your defense Lawyer, I review and assemble evidence and create a strong defense strategy.
Depending on the evidence, we may file a motion to dismiss or reduce all charges, plea bargain or go to court to seek acquittal.
