Understanding the body's alcohol metabolism rate

Like many that come to us here at The Law Offices of Palumbo & Renaud after having been arrested for drunk driving in Cranford, you might question how it is even possible to challenge such a charge. Say that you are stopped for suspicion of drunk driving. A breathalzyer tests shows your blood-alcohol content to be .08. You are arrested and are asked to do a confirmatory chemical breath test one hour later, which registers a reading of .016. This is well within the legal limit, yet the arresting officer says that it simply means most of the alcohol has passed out of your system since you were stopped.

Rutgers University policy on marijuana use in residence halls

Rutgers University, like many other schools, has a strict substance use policy. Marijuana use specifically is a serious offense, as it is an illegal substance in the state of New Jersey. If you are caught violating the substance use policy while residing in a university residence hall, the consequences can be severe. Even medicinal marijuana is illegal in residence halls.

Defining shoplifting in New Jersey

When most in Cranford hear that one has been arrested for shoplifting, they might immediately envision some teen being caught trying to sneak stuff out of a store in his or her backpack. This assumption is due to the fact that many view shoplifting as only being a juvenile crime. However, statistics show the exact opposite. According to the National Association for Shoplifting Prevention, 75 percent of those charged with shoplifting are adults.
