'The most hated man on the Internet' pleads guilty

Throughout our posts, we have rarely touched on cyber-crimes; criminal charges that stem from computer transactions. Cyber crimes encompass identity theft, corporate espionage, child pornography and even terroristic threats. One of the growing issues with regard to cyber crimes involves “revenge porn” which refers to sexually explicit pictures or videos posted to social media for the masses to see by a former love interest to get back at someone for either breaking off the former relationship or for cheating while being a couple.

Overview of the preliminary hearing in a DUI case

A person in New Jersey who has decided to plead not guilty to a DUI charge will probably attend a preliminary hearing. When a defendant pleads guilty, there is no preliminary hearing because the defendant is essentially admitting to the charges and agreeing to go straight to sentencing.

Smartphone app allows users to send videos to the ACLU

With as many videos that are downloaded, recorded via smartphone, and sent between people, it was only a matter of time till an app was developed to help people who want to report police brutality and instances of excessive force. According to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) a new application has been released that will allow users to record the police in their interactions with the public and send them directly to the ACLU.

DWI for New Jersey teen after single vehicle accident

Police in New Jersey have reported that a 19-year-old woman has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after she was involved in a one-car accident during the early morning hours of Feb. 13. After being taken into custody by Stafford police officers, the woman was released to her sister. The case will be heard in Stafford Municipal Court.

Fighting drunk driving charges

People who have been charged with drunk driving in the state of New Jersey have several options available for their defense. Although they will of course be considered innocent until they are proven guilty, an assertive attempt to defend themselves against the charges may result in a much more positive outcome.

New Jersey woman charged in crash with alleged drunk driver

On Jan. 29, the Hudson County Sheriff's Office indicated a woman from Clifton has been charged in connection with a fatal car accident that claimed the life of a Jersey City man in December. The 33-year-old surrendered to authorities on Jan. 26.

Zamboni driver charged with DUI

It is probably a hockey fan's dream to drive the Zamboni at a New Jersey Devils' game. After all, driving the big ice resurfacing vehicle is a big deal during the intermissions, and it is arguably one of the coolest jobs a person can have. However, if you're going to be behind the wheel of a Zamboni, you're going to have to be sober.
