Marijuana related charges are by a landslide the most common drug cases heard in the Union County Court of New Jersey. Most of the marijuana distributed in New Jersey originates in Mexico, entering the state each day through various vehicles of transportation. Its constant availability and widespread use results in multitudes of marijuana related arrests and charges every day. My name is Anthony N. Palumbo, and I used to be Union County Prosecutor, and a Municipal Court Prosecutor, but now I am a defense attorney. I handle an average of 10 marijuana cases a week and have been doing so for more than 35 years. Do the math. More than 15,000 marijuana cases in 35 years! My experience as a former prosecutor has made my defense tactics unique to many other defense lawyers, and has helped me win thousands of marijuana cases on behalf of my clients.

If you have been charged or received a criminal complaint for a marijuana distribution crime, simple possession, or possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana in Union County, I know how to work your case against the prosecution. Contact me today to discuss your case by phone or in person at 1-866-664-8118. I will provide you with a free initial consultation, and give you an honest assessment of the strength of your charge. I defend individuals charged with Marijuana crimes throughout Union County New Jersey including the towns of Berkeley Heights, Clark, Cranford, Elizabeth, Fanwood, Hillside, Linden, Mountainside, Plainfield, Rahway, Roselle, Roselle Park, Scotch Plains, Springfield, Summit, Union, and Westfield.

Union County Marijuana Possession & Marijuana charges

Since marijuana charges are the most common drug offenses in New Jersey, I am in the Union County Courthouse and Municipal Courts defending these charges on a weekly basis. Marijuana charges are complicated and require more than just an avid trial attorney. Your lawyer must be experienced with the entire criminal process including the Pre-Trial Intervention program and Conditional Discharge, two remedies which are often substituted for jail time in marijuana cases. If completed properly, these programs can lead to a clean record despite a guilty plea, but your attorney must take proper action. Many people operate under the assumption that in certain circumstances (i.e. juvenile reaching the age of majority) criminal records will be automatically expunged. This however is not true, and action must always be taken on behalf of the attorney to properly seal records.

If you have been charged with a marijuana related offense, or even suspect that you may be charged in the future, contact an attorney immediately and do not talk to the police without an attorney present. I cannot tell you how many cases I have seen where an individual could have been acquitted, but was subjected to penalties because they gave in to police questioning.
