New Brunswick is situated Middlesex County, southwest of New York City on the southern bank of the Raritan River. The city was formed by Royal Charter in 1730 and reformed in 1763. It was incorporated as a city under the Act of the New Jersey Legislature in 1784. Today New Brunswick has a population of over 50,000 and is a thriving city, home to many ethnicities particularly Hungarian and Hispanic.

The New Brunswick municipal court is located on 78 Bayard Street, New Brunswick NJ 08901. Court officials include Chief Judge E. Ronald Wright, Prosecutors Robert Goodwin, Tara Auciello, Robert M. Adochio, and Court Administrator Kimberley A. Milligan. The court is in session Monday thru Thursday at 8:45 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 4:45 p.m., except Thursday.
