Union County Sexual Assault lawyer
Have you been accused of sexual assault, domestic violence, lewd conduct, indecent exposure or any other crime involving a sexual offense? Does it feel like everyone just assumes you're guilty? Suddenly people at your job or school don't want to be around you anymore, and no one answers when you call. To make matters worse, you are probably worried about your future too. What happens if I'm convicted? Will I be able to get a job? What about an apartment or a mortgage? Unfortunately, if you've been accused of a sex crime, your fears are probably justified. Accusations of sex crimes are particularly harmful to a person's reputation, making it difficult to get a job, lease an apartment or even obtain a mortgage loan. Don't be a victim of an unwarranted conviction.

Our firm defends individuals accused of offenses throughout the State of New Jersey including Union County, Middlesex County, Somerset County, Hudson County, Essex County, Morris County, Ocean County and Monmouth County, and more.
Rape-Sexual Assault
A conviction of Sexual Assault can result in:
- Severe fines
- Probation
- Possible imprisonment (average 7 years)
- Possibly Registration as a sex offender
Registration means registering as a sexual offender under Megan's Law. Under Megan's Law, anyone convicted of a sex offense must register with law enforcement once out of jail, and must remain registered for at least 15 years. A sex offender must inform the local police of their name, address, what they look like, other convictions, and if there is a change of address. The local police must then notify certain individuals that you live in the neighborhood.
Aggravated Sexual Assault
In addition to the consequences of Sexual Assault, Aggravated Sexual Assault can carry:
- Up to 20 years in prison
If you have been accused of sexual assault, sexual harassment, domestic violence, assault and battery or any other sex crime, do not speak to the police or any other individual and insist on your 5th Amendment right to be silent until your attorney arrives. Don't underestimate the severity of being charged with a sexual offense, or complexities involved in the process.
